EDIT: Is it possible for your to access the fasteners on the steering shaft coupler from under the car? Or does the cat keep you from accessing? If you can get to them, you could remove that coupler to allow the shaft to move out of your way. Just make sure you set your wheels straight first and DO NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL while the shaft is decoupled. Here is a pic of the extensions, socket(extractor and adapter), and breaker bar we used: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/QG...=w1369-h770-no And here is the style of bolt extractor we used (Irwin branded): https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/9O...=w1369-h770-no I hope this is of some help! I have no idea why Nissan didn't anti-seize that nut. |

Shallow socket for the bolt...you can get it in there...mine looked the same way with the steering coupler. I tried with a deep socket and couldn't get it, swapped for a shallow and was able to put it on there.

Now that I'm thinking about it...I think I used a 1/2 impact and long extention with a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter with a long 3/8 extention with the shallow socket...problem solved.
