Mounted some new door speakers/tweeters and ran the wiring to the hatch.

That's awesome. I've never been to THE M but I would love to go one day. And it must be nice if it is still somewhat inexpensive to live there LOL.

Drove to work... enjoyed the drive while thinking hard about moving on to another car. Possibly '16 WRX Sti limited w/o wing. Just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger...

Getting really tired of all the small things that have gone wrong with the z... the worst thing is that no one can seem to find the fix :shakes head:

2009_370z 08-10-2015 01:21 PM

What's wrong with your car?

Zboy89 08-10-2015 01:38 PM

Same question....

FairladyZ10PG 08-10-2015 02:12 PM

Just some minor annoying issues like the CSC failure (cost me $1k to fix), crazy throttle lag which I have been experiencing more frequently, Clutch safety switch issue (which no local shops can find the fix; the car just won't start properly, sometimes I have to try over dozen times before the car starts), & tremendous amount of clicking/knocking noise coming from the right rear suspension (which shops cannot find the source of the noise, possibly the subframe bushing, loose suspension bolt, or rear axel issue).

I already spent over $500 to fix the issues but nothing has been fixed so far...

Oh, I forgot to mention the string of bad luck with other cars running into me while I'm standing still and some random rock cracking my front bumper just 2 weeks after getting new paint :rofl2:

My Z has caused me more stress than all my other cars combined :owned:

Zboy89 08-10-2015 02:14 PM

That is really sad. It's a pure case of bad luck I guess...they are supposed to be very reliable cars. So...what are you planning to do next?

I was doing some research on the new wrx sti but it seems that this car is not w/o its own issues as well. Might just keep my z until I get married lol or until Honda decides to bring back S2k :p

Heck if you are going to wait on Honda to bring back a car.. I read an article the other day on Motor Authority.com and it was how the Acura NSX is going to be like the Honda Civic type R; not allowed in the US.
On top of it, since Honda and Acura are sister companies (like Nissan and Infiniti) the NSX will be badged as a Honda when it comes out in 2017 and not as an Acura. I guess Honda will also be changing a bit on the NSX to make it US legal though.

That would be cool to see the new NSX come out already, it looks awesome

FairladyZ10PG 08-10-2015 03:29 PM

^Agree! Although it is out of my budget :)

Dang.. sorry to hear that man. Hopefully things turn for the better for you!

I received my brakes this past weekend (rotors/pads/lines/fluid). I can't wait till this upcoming weekend so I can install them. I feel like today has gone by SO SLOW at work LMAO. 4 more days..

Same here but from what I read the entire car is a whole new generation. There was a picture of the chassis and wheels on the car (CAD drawing) and the chassis are angled and kind of turned a certain way to be proven more aerodynamic and provides more stability.

Coolest part is the all electric feature. Pretty much turns into a Tesla but looks like an NSX

Especially Mondays lol, been one of the slowest Monday's I've had in a while.
And I would love an NSX but no where in my budget either right now haha

Got back home after a weekend of Dragon Runs! Sadly a racoon met it's fate with my front bumper and brand new replacement spoiler on the way back :shakes head: 20 minutes from my place.

Sorry brother. That is one good thing about this lip. You replace the pc. vs buying a new bumper. One of the reasons I could not get myself to move to a new one.

DatsunFTW 08-11-2015 12:02 AM

I will judge whether or not I need a new bumper tomorrow. It is dented at the side the lip snapped off in two, but I hope there is no crack. Had to tear off everything in the dark and make it drive-able for another 10 miles.. this was a really big racoon!

Zboy89 08-11-2015 01:01 AM

Dayum that is a heck of a rackoon. Probably a cheaper fix than paying insurance deductible?

DatsunFTW: My condolences to your bumper and the huge :icon23: racoon... I hope you get those fixed quick. Perhaps a new front lip or a whole bumper? :stirthepot:

Fman007 08-11-2015 02:46 PM

I GTMatt-ed my truck on the weekend. Quieted down the hatch.

FairladyZ10PG 08-11-2015 04:21 PM

Just got new wheels lol (complete impulse buy...)

I'll be selling my g25s soon so keep your eyes open for the classified section :p

*DE if you're reading this (thank you so much for your offer but didn't want to bother you with my little purchase lol but I'll buy you some beer next time I see you at the cerritos meet :) I really do appreciate all your help)

DatsunFTW 08-11-2015 11:24 PM

I have had loads of people mention a new front bumper!
But I do love my oem too much :/ I don't have a love for anything else.
I want to replace the some front end parts like the bumper, undershroud (unfortunately the Zspeed got pretty dented in), both fender liners and both headlights since I have to put the deductable down anyway. Geico won't replace my front spoiler :(

My overflow tank fittings cracked and so I ran around 2 hours away from town looking for a replacement since I need to take a 4 hour trip tomorrow for work for the next 2 weeks. I snatched up the later 2012 expansion reservoir instead of my prior pressurized tank. I had to take out the tube that ran coolant into the heater pipe and plugged that fitting in. Flushed out the coolant completely with some Blue Coolant from the dealer.

Needed to do that anyway since I just hit 60k on the car and it's a good idea to do a full servicing. Tomorrow I am to clean out my TB's, probably going to order some new injectors and spark plugs as well as some fresh clutch fluid. Oil change as well.

I would take my Civic instead of the Z but I would much rather have a body shop take care of me over my course in town since I trust all of the shops there and none where I am currently living.

notice those shoe strings holding my bumper on? :ugh2:

Hotrodz 08-12-2015 12:06 AM

Dude, I'm so sorry to hear about your misfortune. Flippin little furry critters can cause some big damage. That sucks that Geico wont take care of you. State Farm replaced all my oem parts and my aftermarket splitter. They will replace whatever the shop says is on the car. You might want to consider a switch...hopefully you will back to normal and rollin large soon.

They will replace everything but the front spoiler. I have been considering a switch to Statefarm.
