You are so correct. I am one of those people, that even I could find defects perhaps in a Buggati Veron.

What would it take to put you at ease to the point where you can enjoy the car? We all pretty much agree that it wasn't wrecked and put back together based on your photos. It's too new to be behind on maintenance. What else is left?

Have a coke and a smile, and enjoy your new car. There's very little doubt in my mind that it's 100% ok.

Limey, are you concerned that the car was perhaps returned under the Lemon Law or repeated-but-failed repair issues? That would make sense and be a valid concern IMHO. One does have to wonder why it was for sale at 1500 miles.

Exactly, well said. I dont think it was returned under the lemon law as the booklet ( florida one ) came with the service wallet which also included the previous owners name and date of purchase. The lemon law booklet has spaces for the amount of times the car came in for such work ( all empty ) the car was purchased at Pearsons Nissan in Ocala, and then traded in at Love Chevorlet in Homossa which is also close to that area.

I even found a google cache copy of my car for sale at Love Chevorlet stating that it was a local trade in which sounds about right. Then the car I am assuming was sold to my local Mazda dealer approx 20 miles away from Love Cheverolet. The Z had just been delivered that day and was not even detailed when I bought it. The previous owner was a married man of 52 year of age that I do know from looking up his name and details courtesy of them leaving it in one of the pages of the Florida Lemon Law agreement that he signed at the time of purchase from originating dealer Pearson Nissan of Ocala.

I used to work in the bodyshop industry many years ago back in England, UK. I have reviewed all bolts screws and areas where I assumed collision repair and could not identify anything that has been changed. I will be using a PTG device on Monday to be sure, however.

Going back to what you said about trading in a vehicle at 1500 miles, that is IMHO also a red flag hence my caution. I guess coming from primarily a BMW background, that is what I owned and drove many in the UK It came as a suprise to find "factory" faults in body and also some other areas in a few Japanese cars that I have owned since living in the USA. Example, my previous ride a 2013 Mazdaspeed 3 which had 2 miles on the ODO, after detailing that car, I did notice a couple of dust particles in the hood. Albeit they were the size of a sharp pencil tip and acceptable under the words "factory tolerence" I guess LOL.

Appart from the few issues I posted earlier the Z seems to be good to go. My main concern was the thread about the rear light gaps which raised all this initially.

More of a yellow flag than a red one, IMNSHO. Lots of "early turnover" on Big Boy Toys (boats, sports cars, ATVs, &c). Still possible that it's a wreck or lemon, but there are lots of good reasons for a low mileage trade-in.

Since you have some bodywork experience and have made a through inspection without finding any evidence of repairs, I'd guess that someone bought the car and then decided it was too small or fast or expensive or whatever.
