So long 370...

So regardless of ambient temps, is the Genesis pretty consistent with power in terms of feeling?

HAHA! Nah. Like butt dyno feeling. I notice our cars are the only ones that are noticeably more sluggish feeling as the weather gets warmer. Other cars regardless of power seems to maintain a consistent feeling. [shrugs]

Which I guess means that the Z is more sensitive to air density...

Salesman once told me once you have Hyndai you will always be stuck with a Hyndai. Its something to do with their trade in values that gives the owner better avenue of getting another Hyundai than changing platform.

Very close. It was down to the wire for me between the Gen 3.8 coupe or the 370Z. It would be a drivers race, stock for stock.

Aftermarket, I would say the Gen is easier to mod and cheaper to mod. They have many tune options available, also the canned ones work well too.

370 stock is 0-60 4.7 and 1/4 mile 13.3 (from what I have read)
2013+ Genesis 3.8 0-60 is 4.8 and 1/4mile 13.5 (from what I have read)

*And yes the hyundai resale value was a determining factor in not buying one for me. Plus, its a Hyundai....

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8R was my second choice for a new car. A great deal and Hyundai provides an excellent warranty. However, based on my butt dyno, the Z has significantly more power. (Supposedly 4.6 vs. 5.3 zero to sixty times.) Also the Hyundai transmission was not very smooth and the engine was very raspy at high RPM.

ive had my Z for 5yrs now... to me, my Z has been consistent from 27F to 100F. sure the power drains in heat from standstill, but so does other gasoline -only powered cars.

Yeah, it was a Mazda salesman.

Also on a side note, I personally do not just go with numbers. We all know Koreans are good with numbers in the fact of making them sound better, all you go to do is look at Samsung and their smartphones etc, all these high numbers mean not much in real life terms. They seem to have a thing with making the numbers look better.

When I bought the Z , I bought into the Heritage of it. Also reminds me so much of my old BMW Euro e36 M3 I owned back when I lived in England.
