I'm just gonna trust you guys that the Z will go 155 (or more without the limiter). At my age, things go by pretty quickly at half that speed.

My MS3 is also “electronically limited” at 155mph and has a drag cof of .31 (pretty decent) It feels plenty staple at 155mph
Really? My MS3 felt downright nervous and darty at 140+ mph.
I've driven a lot of fast cars, and my MS3 was not one of the more staple... err, I mean stable, of them at high speeds.

RX8 felt like it was going to go airborne at high speeds. Probably due to the lightweight wankel.

Ok.....the car IS/WAS limited to 155mph and this limit CAN BE removed with a tune. The car IS NOT drag limited to 160........I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT! I have exceeded 160 and run closer to 170 with no problem. My guess is that the car will go over 180 but I couldnt get there as i ran out of track.

I know my car is not the norm on this forum but, I doubt the "drag limited" figure of 160 even without the TT kit.

I am taking the time to model a top-speed calculation for the 370Z using dyno-charts I have found on this site. Taken into account will be: power (torque) at every 500rpm range from a dyno graph I find here, (drive-wheel torque over the RPM band). Drivetrain ratios: gear ratios, differential ratio, and tire size. Parasitic loss from: vehicle weight, drag coefficient, frontal area and driver weight

Give me a few.

Okay, I calculated it all out. I got 168mph using the GT-R's 22.5 sq ft frontal area (couldn't find one for the 370Z, this dyno here:
http://www.the370z.com/attachments/n..._baseline2.jpg

to plot the points, and 3300# + a 175# driver.

using 500ms shift points, I calculated that this car should run 30-120mh in 16.4 seconds. Car and driver tested a 370Z to run this in 16.35 seconds. Therefor, I am of the opinion that this calculation has a VERY small margin of error that is likely smaller than the variance from car to car. Here is my data, and here is a C&D test-sheet for you to check it against:

http://www.caranddriver.com/var/ezfl...61a7a3bb51.pdf

*You will note that the whp/wtq displayed is not IDENTICAL to the graph I took it from. This is because I did not agonize over dragging the dots exactly as they were on the dyno. They are off by 1-3# of torque I am sure, as this program allows me only to drag dots, not manually input rpm/power data. However, the horsepower in my data was calculated from the torque, and only being off by a few whp, it is good enough to make me happy considering it is calculated at 5250 and the dyno I took this data from did not have an rpm/tq readout as you can see. In other words: The variance of the data is less than car to car, but I am explaining why it is there.

Thanks! I just wanted to see if my 168mph guess was correct. It was closer than I thought

Besides, this thread had gone on for 4 pages with no answer. Meh.

well you could of hop in the z car and hit the vacant stretch!

with the limiter off I'm sure a base 370z could see those speeds...it'd take forever but it make it.

350z's the limiter is 158mph

As others have mentioned its electronically limited to 155 MPH. I can also say this from experience.

Limited electronically. I was the first ECU reflashed car in the country basically and that was one of the first things changed (removed).

Now as far as what this car is actually "drag" limited to... I don't know. Even with mods and putting down 315 to the rear wheels, it takes a bit to get to 140 even. 160 sounds doable but over 170? IDK about that... Of course with forced induction that is another story.

Hmmm really. From 60mph, I feel like I can get to 140mph very quickly. My car seems to Rev up past 120mph very fast. From 0 it doesn't take too long either. I seem to reach 100mph extremely fast from 0 and then the next forty are progressively gradual. In other words I don't feel like I'm lagging to get to 140mph. Maybe its because I have a 7AT? But once I hit 140mph, then things seem to slow down a lot more.
