pee on his car and be like "i am washing it for you but since my pee is 95% water I thought it would be a good conservation method"

You should mix up a bit of instant coffee with water in a clear container and when your neighbours are out ask them if you can dump your motor oil down the sewer drain.:roflpuke2:

Tell them the soap from your car wash which drains straight to the ocean helps clean up the ocean and the fish. It's like a wash for them too.

So i am gonna stop brushing/flushing/showering for a week straight so i can conserve enough water to wash my car. Perfect plan?

totally worth it.

Tell them global warming is real...Just look at all the cold days and snow all over the US. :icon14:

Or point to the record setting heat wave in Australia, a truly horrifying heat wave; or point to the unusually high temperatures (22-33°F above normal) in Alaska while we have cold induced by the polar vortex in parts of the lower 48.

This reminds me I need to get my car washed today.

Even if its a cop(unless they have probable cause or warrant), a cop told me that.

"Dude am serious", the cop who told you that is an idiot. What you posted is absolutely NOT true in California:

Quote:

The legal defense of self-defense in California law means that you can't be found guilty of a violent crime that you committed in order to protect yourself, as long as your conduct was reasonable under the circumstances.

For purposes of the self-defense legal defense, “reasonable under the circumstances” means that you need to have:

1.Reasonably believed that you were in imminent danger of being killed, injured, or touched unlawfully,

2.Reasonably believed that you needed to use force to prevent that from happening, and

3.Used no more force than was necessary to prevent that from happening.
Specifically regarding defense of property and trespassing:

Quote:

...California self-defense law also encompasses the right to use force to defend your property from harm. This right covers both real property (like a house or land) and personal property (money, cars, jewelry, etc.).

In order to use the “defense of property” version of self-defense as a legal defense, you must be able to show that:

1.The threat of harm to your property was imminent (that is, immediate), and

2.You used only reasonable force to defend your property.

Example: Toby spots his angry ex-girlfriend Carrie approaching his car with a sledgehammer. It is clear that Carrie is about to commit California vandalism on Toby's car. So Toby uses physical force to restrain Carrie. She fights back, and he is forced to punch and kick her a few times.

Toby is probably not guilty of assault for punching and kicking Carrie, because of the extension of self-defense to the defense of property.

California self-defense law also provides that you have the right to use reasonable force to make someone who is trespassing on your property leave.

But for this version of self-defense to apply, you need to:

1.first request that the trespasser leave the property, and

2.reasonably believe that s/he poses a threat either to the property or to the people occupying it.
Source: California Self-Defense Laws

So in California you can only use "reasonable force" (i.e., force that is reasonable and justified under the circumstances), which means you can't shoot someone just because they are trespassing on your property. And the laws in most states in this regard are similar to California's.

California does have a "presumption of imminent danger and serious bodily harm" if a person engaged in a criminal act is inside your home (i.e., it is presumed that use of lethal force against a person engaged in a criminal act inside your home is justified unless the prosecutor can prove otherwise). In all other situations, the burden of proof is on you to show that your use of force (regardless of the type of force used) was reasonable under the circumstances.

TL;DR: it's not illegal to spray your neighbors with the hose if they bother you while you're washing the car.

Seems to me that if they are in my house, they are already "engaged in a criminal act." ;)

Most laws/law makers protect the criminals more than the citizens. That's just like those azzhats that think we need more gun control and/or no guns at all. What good would that do for the citizens, a criminal by definition DOES NOT follow the law. Most crime committed with guns isn't done by someone who has obtained the gun in a legal way. Isn't it already against the law to kill someone, to rob someone? Well they are still doing it, go ahead and make all the laws you want the criminals will keep on breaking them. All more gun control would do is make it easier for the criminals and totally screw over anyone that obeys the law. Lets look at Chicago, some of the strictest gun control laws in the US. Yet somehow they have some of the highest murder rates and crimes committed with guns per capita. :icon14: Most, if not all those crimes committed with guns were not obtained legally. So yeah go ahead and rub some more laws in their face that'll show them..

Save your water.

Drive around the neighborhood and find some family who is obviously out of town and use their water.

Seriously though, I remember when I was a kid, i'd be with my dad to load up our car with plastic jugs and pails and make multiple trips to get in line for water, fill up our containers and head back home. No water pressure where we lived during certain weeks. I just learned to appreciate what I have now no matter how simple it is. Not a conservationalist by any means I just don't take it for granted. So at the end of each car wash, I appreciate the Z even more.
