I will either sell my Z someday to make room for another (sports car) or utilize my currently rented space, to store the Z and likely other cars in my future.

With all this talk about the new C7 and the 2015 625 HP Z06, my original plan of 10-15 years may go out the window.

If I was offered $30,000 for my 2009 Z, or offered a 2014 in trade I'd keep my current car as is. At $50,000 it is a goner.

After my lease . $18,000 buy out... No thanks! This car was a big let down I had major plans for twin turbo fast intentions and everything but no thanks.

I plan on keeping mine. Its always nice seeing old cars in great condition still driving better than some of the newer cars on the road in worse condition

I'll buy other cars. That's a certainty. I'll still keep the Z. By the time I usually sell the car, it's not worth much anyway. Might as well keep it at that point.

I fully intend to keep mine for a long time. I can see the day where I inherit it to someone, but I have no plans to ever sell it. My own appreciation for the car is more than it's worth. I've wanted a Z since I was a teenager who got a ride in a 240z. I really loved the look of the 300z too. Finally at a place where I can afford my own Z without worrying about it's lack of space.

That said, cars start to become expensive to maintain after about ten years and they don't make good daily drivers. At that point, it's time for a new daily driver and the Z gets kept in the garage and driven on the weekends.

30k for a 2009 and you didn't drop it like a hot potato? I didn't even get that for my 2011.................

I cannot say that I'd never sell it/get rid of it, but I plan on keeping it until it's paid off (seven more years) and maybe a bit longer (I enjoy no payments).

However, you never know the opportunities that may come along.

There are some cars I would hold on to. The one I saw yesterday was a 2 gen 300Z twin Turbo. I would hang on to that car and the owner felt the same and would not sell it to me.
I love cars and most consider me a car guy but I also do not get too attached any more. I like to have didfferent experiences and you can't do that if you hang on to just one car.

Sure you can. Just because you hang onto this car (for example), it doesn't mean that you cannot get another, different car.

Especially after said first car is paid off.

Exactly. Start building a stable of cool cars.

Of course, I'm that guy who would rather have 10 interesting $30k cars than one $300k car.

I've been thinking this for the entire two years I've owned mine but ever since I bought an FR-S last week, I'm becoming more open to the idea of selling this for a sedan..eventually

until I drove my Z again for the first time this year last night....

now, I'm not too sure what the hell I wanna do:icon17:

Ive sold every car Ive planned on keeping :) I plan on keeping the Z until I sell it as well :)

kenchan 02-06-2014 03:03 PM

i will keep my Z for another 5-6yrs.. maybe longer. not sure. if there's a car that comes along that i really want, i will consider selling her. if not, i will continue to keep my Z.

my G is 10yrs old, original owner... same thing. never liked the G37C which i was expecting to replace with. dont care for the Q60 either.

I feel the same way. I probably will give it to my future kid or something.

I am not going to lie though, before buying the BP kit, I really considered trading my car in for a STI. Until I sat in one, I could not fall in love with the interior. It just felt cheap. The car still has the same engine for so many years but have yet to improve on interior material.
