Z damaged by fire...

This is going to be my first thread and I can't believe I am typing this...

Earlier this morning I woke up to this awful smoke, my youngest brother screaming and banging the door. The fire alarm just started to go off.

First thing I do is wake up the rest of my brothers and I try to get them out of the house as quickly as possible. As soon as everyone was out the door. I grabbed my phone and call the fire department immediately. I realized that the thick black smoke was coming out of the garage so I tried to open it but to no avail.

The damage was isolated to the garage and didn't spread to any part of the house. I have contacted farmers insurance for my auto but they won't be able to send someone until tomorrow. Here are some
Pics of the car (sorry for the bad quality I just took a pic from my phone) Any advise on how to proceed with the claim would be appreciated.

Omg. This is horrible. Thank god you and your family are unharmed. It could've been worse. Maybe it can be a caused by an arsonist?

A cigarette butt caused the fire. Apparently my brother smoked inside the garage before he left for work. I can't blame him as it wasn't intentional. But now he has to quit.

Sucks about the car man but that is the reason for insurance. I'm glad you and your family are ok.

Sorry to hear about the property damage, but at least everyone was ok. Hopefully insurance takes care of everything for you.
