Thanks for the responses. After reading about how mods only alter the warranty if the mod caused the damage makes me feel much more at ease.

What sort of performance mods afford you the comfort of warranty protection? Is it more a question of who installs/manufactures the parts? I've been thinking I would like breathing/cooling mods... maybe a real pumpkin.

Your warranty cannot be voided for an aftermarket part. A warranty claim may be denied based on an aftermarket part, but they have to show that the mod caused the problem. For example,if you install an aftermarket radiator and the transmission fails, they will replace the transmission under warranty. If you install an aftermarket radiator and it cracks, leaks out your coolant, you overheat and blow a head gasket, they will deny the claim.
