There are no less than 5 world class road courses within 3 hours of you. If you want to drive hard don't do it on the freeway. A week from sunday if you want to go to AAA speedway and learn what your car isreally capable of, send me an PM.

There is a beginners group and there will be lots of first timers. The track is really the only place that can put a car to the test. There is nothing you can do on any public highway in socal that can even compare to one track day. Besides, other people don't want you driving like a dipsh1t around them.

Take it to the track. There's lots of Z forum members from the LA OC area. Come hang out in the AutoX section.

I was there on the 3rd with Chin. Black, 2013 stock 370(except pads), and goofy looking guy in tan shorts and black Bell sa10 helmet. You might have zoomed past me too fast to notice. LOL.

Captn Worley 11-07-2013 10:54 AM

i hit 7500 everyday.

kenchan 11-07-2013 10:59 AM

does the AT allow you to bounce off the limiter?

Tazicon 11-07-2013 11:04 AM

Yes pre-2013 it does. In manual it will NOT shift up unless you shift it.

I sometimes still do this on accident when I don't use the paddles. Unlike many other cars, you can move the shift lever in a small enough movement to not trigger the switch of gears. This frustrates me...

I should add this to the, "You know you're in a z..." thread...

Mt Tam I am 11-07-2013 11:05 AM

My limiter light flashes at 7000 rpm and I see it flash every day.

My 2013 does not upshift. At least with one bounce. Maybe it will if I keep it up there, but I haven't ever tried. Maybe I should over lunch...

It's not the 70's. Break-in procedures are simply antiquated. Most high-performance engines are run to redline before they are even installed in the cars at the factory. (A mass-produced engine like the VQ is probably not however)
