And sorry to hear about having to tow her, but it does sound like it is going to be covered, unless it is the breaks.

It'll be covered, and I think the stock pads will last 60k easy

Ok so they pulled it into their garage, no noise. Had an oil change done since I needed that anyways. They took it for a test drive, no noise. Then I drove it with them, no noise. They said it was probably a rock stuck between the brake caliper and pad. It kinda makes sense since the car drives completely fine, breaks and everything works fine. Going back in a little bit to pick it up. Is it possible a rock dislodged and is now inbetween that shield that goes around the inner side of the brake pad? They didn't take the wheels off initially but I was thinking maybe I should have them check just to be sure.

Also it didn't make the noise when it was backed off the flatbed last night so maybe just reversing the car freed it? And they said they've seen that before with rocks getting stuck in the breaks on cars with bigger break calipers like the z and Gs too

My front pads were down to 2.0 MM at 26,000 miles. I do mostly hiway driving. This is with the Sports/Touring version. I plan on having them replaced on my next oil change.

Wow, I think members have gotten 80k, I have 36k on mine, mainly ąsshole driving. At 14k the car had 8mm, then I bought it, and after my 22k, they still have 5mm

SO... Had them take off the front left wheel where the sound was coming from, I looked at it with them, couldn't find anything stuck or anything like that. Looked at the other 3 brakes, couldn't see or hear anything rattling. Just got home, (don't know why I didn't think to check this at the dealership) checked the outside of the brake pad and saw a very small groove where the pebble must have been stuck. It's not a deep groove at all, can barely feel it with my finger, but definitely something il keep an eye on. It's maybe a millimeter wide at the most going all the way around the pad, and like I said can barely feel it with my finger so I'm not too worried. In any event I feel much better now.

Just curious: If there is no valid warranty claim made, will they charge you for the tow and their time? Incidentally, I'm insured with Nationwide and they provide tow coverage, at no charge, as part of the expense of my premium. If your insurance covers the tow, maybe you can get that out of the dealership direct bill to you (assuming they're not covering as a warranty matter).

I have a AAA gold card so the tow was free. I don't know if a pebble would be covered under warranty anyways.

Good for you. Wonder how much they'll charge you for their time and trouble. Glad all seems to be resolved.

All they charged me for was the oil change I needed anyways. Nothing extra for the test drives, taking the wheel off or any of that.
