(It's a common joke I make, so it kinda falls flat when you don't know me in person, but just go with it!)

this is very true i thinks. a member from another forum found these stats and it was pretty interesting.

out of this bunch our 370z is the hardest car to keep for a dad with family cause he would need at least
another car to do daily tasks...given he is a responsible dad.

at least for me, it's not easy owning a Z and having 3 other cars to take care... while raising 2 kids. not enough time.

I wonder how much these stats are skewed by parents buying these cars for their kids. Especially the Mustang and Camaro. A survey of registrations wouldn't reveal who is actually driving these cars.

RE: demographics:
Does this seem correct?

Our own site poll does not resemble a median age of 51 for the Z.

This implies 55% are baby boomers or older?

I'm not convinced.

It's probably fairly accurate. Forums tend to skew toward the younger people.

The FRS/BRZ is either a slow car that's fun to drive fast, or an entry-level rwd for kids graduating from their Tcs. It's a rwd civic Si, not a midlife crisis car. I like them, I'm just not caught up in the hype. My GF is buying one early next year. It's the perfect "starter sports car".

Kinda. It's the hypothetical middle ground between a Miata and S2000, except it's not a convertible.

My EXACT thoughts! Before I commited to my WRX, I test drove the BRZ. It was like getting back into my 4 door 2007 Si again, but without the "vtec" cross over, it's actually a 2 seater, RWD, handles a lot better, and is as torqueless as the Si.

I look forward to buying my GF's after a few years when she wants more power. It's fun to drive and gets good gas mileage. It'll be a fantastic little daily driver. I'll happily buy one for $15k.

When you can get a thrashed one for $10k it'll be a fantastic track car.

When Toyotabu comes out with the BRZ STI, it would be a game changer.

Subaru teases the future classic BRZ STI; what about the Scion FR-S? | Digital Trends

To enthusiasts for sure, but it's a bit of a harder sell to the general public who will look at the hp numbers and the price, and compare it to the pony cars.
