I did a few tests earlier tonight and it appears that the brake override does not work at a standstill but you only have to be rolling for it to kick in. When standing still, it feels like the TC stalls (I even got a little wheel spin when releasing the brake); when moving, it feels like the throttle is being limited. But I may be misinterpreting what I'm feeling.
This makes more sense. I see no reason why the brake override would kick in while the vehicle is stopped, obviously, because its intent is to help stop a moving car. You're brake torquing, which is equivalent to us MT owners launching the car at a higher rpm. You can do this on any auto with the same outcome.
