In manual mode will the automatic shift up to avoid over-rev?

When in manual mode the automatic will shift down to avoid bogging the engine. Will it also shift up to avoid over-revving if the driver is a bit late pulling

When in manual mode the automatic will shift down to avoid bogging the engine. Will it also shift up to avoid over-revving if the driver is a bit late pulling the paddle shifter? I'm curious about this but I've been unable to find the answer with searches and I sure don't want to put it to the test on my new car with 200 miles on it.

No, in manual mode you will just hit the rev limiter, it won't shift up.

Thanks! I've never hit the rev limiter in a car because shifting is a habit, but I can see it happening with this one since I'll get out of the habit of shifting then put it in the manual mode and could get distracted and be a bit late shifting. I hit the rev limiter on a Harley with aftermarket ignition one time and it just cut the ignition off until it dropped a couple hundred RPM then flipped it back on. I thought sure I had broken something. Now I'll know what to expect with the car.

Yep i love our manual shifts on the AT. It just cuts fuel and if you're in too high of a gear and mash it, it doenst' downshift like in the Audi's or BMWs or Lexus or whater. You just dont' go anywhere.

It's a soft rev limiter so when you hit it you'll just stop accelerating but it won't bounce up and down like the old school limiters.
