The odds of them putting a dual clutch box in the Z is pretty low considering how much they cost. As good as the 7at seems to be, I can't see them changing it much at all.

If you ever get it tuned with UpRev have them up the trans pressures over 4,000 rpm. That allows it do be smooth DD in auto mode but makes the shifting super fast and smooth when you are on it hard. It made major improvements to my car at the track.

any specifics or do I just say, hey uprev guy, up my trans pressure over 4k rpm?

I'm not sure what my numbers ended up but we didn't go up a lot. We took everything over 4k and raised them slightly then when out a drove the car hard. We did it several time until it felt great.

It slows downshifts though

I don't think it slowed mine at all but maybe it's because we didn't mess with below 4k.

I've "played" with it a lot (

) - there is very little lag (at least mine doesn't) and, no, you don't have to shift one to one an a half seconds before you would want...

I use my manual mode exclusively in mine. I don't like the way the exhaust sounds in auto, or even in manual auto so I hit the paddle and then lift my foot off the gas. This makes the shift perfectly smooth both in transition and sound. Just like a real manual.
Its kinda hard to explain..

Paddles, manual modes, only 2 pedals... Whatever happened to a good old fashioned clutch pedal and a stick in the console?

I first noticed the behavior when trying to get into heavy traffic. I did a few tests earlier tonight and it appears that the brake override does not work at a standstill but you only have to be rolling for it to kick in. When standing still, it feels like the TC stalls (I even got a little wheel spin when releasing the brake); when moving, it feels like the throttle is being limited. But I may be misinterpreting what I'm feeling.

This makes more sense. I see no reason why the brake override would kick in while the vehicle is stopped, obviously, because its intent is to help stop a moving car. You're brake torquing, which is equivalent to us MT owners launching the car at a higher rpm. You can do this on any auto with the same outcome.
