Just to let everyone know there is no such thing as a "loud Exhaust ticket"

I have asked my aunt on several occasions and she is a lawyer in Chicago area

I guess it depends on how you define a "loud Exhaust ticket". If she said you can't get a ticket for a loud exhaust, I recommend you not ask that lawyer for legal advice They certainly call it something else, but it's the same as if you turn up your stereo too loud. I don't have any friends that got one recently, but my friends did in fact get tickets for loud exhaust.

Around here they call it "pollution sonore" which translates directly to "sound pollution." It generally encompasses revving your engine, having very loud bass in your car and loud tailpipes. The U.S. equivalent would probably be "distrubing the peace."

I believe it falls under the Department of Environmental Protection jurisdiction.
