Police ticketing for loud exhausts

I got one in ohio for my exhaust on my 05 civic being too loud. The actual ticket was operating an unsafe motor vehicle, because apparently it was so loud

The logic here is absolute crap. So what if you can't hear sirens? Newsflash -- people who are deaf are allowed to drive. My brother happens to be totally deaf in both ears, and he has a driver's license, his own car, etc. What a total crock. I would love for a cop to give me a ticket based on this logic. I'd tear him a new one in open court.

I have no opinion on loud exhausts, etc, but this quote is classic.

Yeah, not true. As a firefighter who drives fire trucks, it would make no sense. Look at the buick commercial a few years back, how the dude didn't even hear an Ambo that was right behind him. Car manufactors are actually trying to soundproof the interiors of cars!
