I get the feeling that the paddles were designed for the track and not practical use on the streets.
Why would you worry about keeping it under 3k , it redlines at 7.5k & This engine loves the revs. I have not had trouble upshifting mid turn.

I guess I drive like a grandpa and don't really want to get on it. I shift normally at 3-4k, rarely 5.

I don't see the point of reving it to 4.5k if I'm just making a left turn from a stop sign either. I also prefer not to shift in the middle of a turn...

Understandable, I drive that way a lot around town as well, but in the canyons, it's rev time
