I've come to washing the cars every weekend and waxing it every other weekend.

Still love every single mile that I put on my garage queen Z. Also taking turns driving the Z, WRX and my DD...three different experiences, keeps my on my toes with mods and wanting more mods.

Personally, I have never felt the need to mod just to mod. Every mod I've done & have planned has a purpose of how I want the car & it is not my daily driver. I have had a pretty clear plan on what I wanted to do while some ideas have been added & subtracted long the way & am yet to remove or redo a mod. I have always put proper thought & planning into my mods & not just mod on a whim. When I finish, (almost there ) then I can just enjoy my car. I don't vehicle swap much so once I get it the way I want, I'm good.

YMMV

The whole reason why I mod a vehicle is to make it unique to my taste. I don't like to have a vehicle that someone else has. Modding is almost like art to me, each change is representative of myself. Plus, I love working on cars.

I think this is the root cause. Tinkering on things is fun. I don't think I own a single mechanical device I haven't taken apart and messed around with.

I've had spurts where I've done lots of mods then I look at this past Spring/Summer. Outside of installing my front lip (which recently flew off lol) and new R-11 tires, I did nothing

Then in the last 3 weeks, picked up a Carbon Signal CF spoiler, some engine hoses, Illuminated kick plates and have hood props from Kellyfields coming

Heck, I might not even put the hood props in till after winter so I have something to look forward to lol.

I find these little spurts help keep the passion alive. Life will always get in the way here and there.

One thing I do love about the Z is not feeling like I "have to" mod everything to make it look good/perform well. With lesser cars it was never ending...but the Z can be a show stopper with only a handful of modifications.

I only stop modding when I think I'll be selling the car soon. But not once do I wish I bought a luxury or hybrid car like some of the posts in this thread. Besides making my gf and I comfy, sports cars are the main reason I work. Maybe I have some problem where reality won't set in for me, but luckily I have never fell into any sort of financial trouble because of it.

I've had mine for 3 years. I am actually more in love with my Z now than I was when it was brand new. My level of interest in my previous cars definitely had the opposite trend.

Default Stopping the mods...

For me modifying its a hobby, automobiles in general are a passion. Will i get tired of modding? Maybe. Will I lose interest in nice cars in general? Hell no.

I guess i just have a more "OEM" taste where The only parts I care about changing are pretty much just wheels and exhaust and a drop. The rest I don't really care too much, just as long as my Z is unique than another Z on the road im good.
