Default New NISMO S-Tuned Catback Exhaust Installed on my (’13) 370Z

I just had the NISMO Catback installed on my Z. It’s worth every penny. It fits perfectly and the increase flow (HP / torque) is great. I have K&N drop-ins up front. Everything works fine. The exhaust note is deeper, but not too loud. The appearance with the NISMO laser etching on the exhaust tips is a plus. I highly recommend…

This is probably a very dumb question but what is the difference between this and the exhaust that comes on the Nismo? Is there a difference?

Not enough sound for my tastes but the quality is good. I'm saving for a lite speed titanium. After years of battling which exhaust.... I finally came down to lite speed. I love that exotic sound it produces.

I had the S-Tune exhaust for a few years. Its quality is remarkable and the workmanship even better. The sound produced left a lot to be desired, to me at least. Its not louder than stock, but a lot deeper, and, in a way, it even further loses the signature VQ tone. The sound is very nice, just different from any other exhaust for the Z.

The exhaust has a Weldina name tag welded on, but it is manufactured by Fujitsubo in Japan. This likely explains the quality and workmanship. The fitment is perfect and the stainless steel finish is very durable and returns to a new look with some polish even after years of wear and tear. The tips are also arguably some of the best looking tips of any exhaust available for the Z.

This Nismo S-Tune exhaust has a Y-pipe, as opposed to the H-pipe design of the factory Nismo. This piping is also 2.5" all the way through, as opposed to the narrow piping of the factory Nismo H-pipe. But both end in a big, single muffler design, which kills the volume, no matter the piping size. The S-Tune also maintains about the same level of back pressure, at least that which is able to be detected.

It carries a lofty price tag, which is the reason for the "hate" this exhaust receives, along with minimal gains for that huge price. I got mine years ago for under $1,000, which is why I bought it. Many people will undoubtedly say, "you can get so much more HP and a better sound for less money."

At the end of the day, it's a Nissan part that's built with far better than Nissan quality, has attractive tips, and makes a nice sound. I loved it for years, but grew to want more, but for those years I had it, I really enjoyed it. Now that it's gone, I really miss the sexy tips it had! I hope you enjoy it like I did OP!

Going to Z Nationals in Oct.
Main thing I'm going to do is listen to as many Exhaust Systems as I can.
Exhaust will probably my 1st Mod. & having close to 100 Z's to listen to, will be a big help in deciding.

I just installed the same muffler onto my factory Nismo H-pipe set-up that I was running with my standard muffler. We had to modify the mounting holes to accept the OE (Nismo) H-pipe bolt pattern - the spacing of the holes in the muffler flange are approx. 1/4" off from the studs on the H-pipe flange.

The jury is still out - I was pretty accustomed to the sound of the standard muffler but I do like the deeper tone the S-tune muffler provides.

When I changed to the Nismo H-pipe set-up and still had the standard muffler, it gave me a small bump in mid-range power. I think I feel a very slight increase in (or an earlier onset of) torque now that I have the S-Tune muffler on the car.

Now people look at me funny because I keep bending under the car to admire the shiny muffler body.
