Everyone is begging for the BRZ and FRS to offer a boosted model.... Its Nissans chance to slap a 4 cyl turbo in the Z and steal that market niche.

No doubt the VQ is a great engine, even the earlier variants (i.e. vq35de), it even got wards 10 best engines 5 years in a row, but honestly I think the vq35hr should have been the last VQ and the 370 should have went with a new engine design. From personal experience the vq35hr in my 07 was one of my most favorite engines, especially coupled with the famous wookie growl (that the stock 370z completely forgot)

I agree. I remember my biggest excitement for the 370 was it was shorter and wider. .. I assumed weight would be shaved down but instead it's like the same weight. My 350z I shaved down to around 2900 pounds without effecting the interior cosmetics. I am really hoping for a new Z sub 3000 pounds with a 4 cylinder turbo putting at least 320 hp

You do realize less cylinders does not always mean less weight, especially if you are slapping on a turbo, plus piping, intercooler, etc.

Its easier and cheaper to add more power than to shave substantial weight. Itll be a re-worked 3.7 VQVHR making around 380-400 BHP. Throw in the Q50 cockpit, exterior who knows, but theres the Z35. I bet. Probably. WTF do I know? LOL
