I get more strangers asking me about the car, but that's it. Other than that, my friends and family treat me like the same douche I've always been.

Haboob 08-20-2013 06:06 PM

No, no one treated me differently. :(

I wish they would, it would mean I could hang out more. :ugh2:

Though, my buddy got a GTR and now I'm hanging out with him more. I guess it's because of the car? I don't think so entirely, after we hanged (yes, proper English here) out for the first time in umpteen years I realized that I had been missing out on one of the funniest people I knew. I guess everyone goes their separate ways sometimes, but Nissan's & cars brought us back together (no homo).

I get far more attention in my 240Z than in my 370.

However, when I ride around in my friend's Prius, I often get propositioned my women in Birkenstocks and tie-died wrap round skirts who are slightly overweight, have a glazed and faraway look in their eyes, possess visible underarm and leg hair and give off an aroma of patchouli oil and incense.

Unfortunately their propositions involve Obama rallies, yoga, vegan restaurants and Tantric sex.

HAHA tantric sex HAHA

Great car, so it does not surprise me.

Take the proposition and you better get checked out. Medically and mentally. :rofl2:

OP, if people now treat you differently is because you got rid of the V-TEC

Yes !! I hate when people ask that. Especially people I don't really talk to like that.

Not to sound like a d!ck, but I can't really comment because I've always had some sort of socially accepted "cool car". Sure, I went through my "VTEC and DSM phase" and never owned a Porsche or Ferrari, but even my Integra and Eclipse GST were generally well-liked. I suppose I never really cared too much about that aspect of owning a car. I just bought a car because that particular one, at that time in my life, was the best one I could afford that put a smile on my face. So no, I guess the people in my social circle just don't give two sh!ts about what I drive.

People assume my parents bought the car for me, 85% of people who ask/talk to me about it have that impression anyway. How does a 21 year old own one? Working his *** off!

lt_370z 08-21-2013 08:15 AM

That is true but people who don't know much about cars are the ones that assume things because they think it costs way more than it does. I had an S2000 when I was 17 a 350Z at 19 and yes my parents bought me those cars when I was in college, not ashamed to admit that my parents loved me. Now I'm 26 and have a career I would think the questions would stop.

I see people's rides all day long. I must say that I don't treat them differently because of what they drive. I get real idiots who drive nice rides and I get really nice people who drive crap. It's all in what "kind" of person they are that decides how I treat them.

Meulen 08-21-2013 11:56 AM

yes....

I've had neighbors so jealous of some of my cars they insulted me and quit talking to me. It's pretty rediculous. It's America...land of opportunity. Can't we be happy for people?

yeah. Heard that. A LOT. not happy about it but whatevers.

ha-ha, I got that too, even though my previous car was a 2008 BMW convertible, loaded at $52,000.-, people are funny sometimes, but at the end I bought the car for my pleasure and could care less what anybody thinks. I did not buy it to impress anyone but myself.
