If we both have the same interests, we would prob get along and we did. Going to cars and Coffee with a Tiburon i was more of a watcher, now with the Z im part of the shows, going on cruises, making Friends, ect. I wouldn't say its just that people like the Z and not me, they like me because i choose to buy the Z.

On an opposite note, some of my friends didn't like that i bought the Z, they were jealous, or thought i was a sell out or something and never took an interest in it, despite being car guys since we were young.

I guess there is a certain degree of physco analysis that can be done for this, do people/girls like YOU or the car? Are they using you to get to the car? Or do they like you because you like cars, ect.

None of my friends treat me different. I'd second guess the friendship if they did. People I don't know tell me the car is cool... but I wouldn't sasy they treat me different either. I'm thinking where you live might play into that factor and age?

I'm just like you were...long time Civic driver before I got the Z.

To answer your question directly, I've never had a stranger strike up a conversation with me about my car while we were both taking care of business at the urinal.

That was a first.

I'm not sure, but I never had a bunch of attractive young ladies jump out of their truck at a red light to hop into my other cars, like they did as I drove the Cocoa Beach Fla. coastline in my "Z."

Nor have men and women of all ages expressed their "love" for my other rides as they have for the "Z" ... at red lights ... in traffic ... as I park at the mall ... at my apartment complex ... at work. You get the idea.

Wish I could attribute this attention to my sparkling personality or male model like looks, but somehow I'm thinking it is, in fact, the car.

It's like wearing a nice hat. It earns more praise than a terrible looking one, but it isn't particularly important.

Girls like it, that's for sure. But I'm in Texas so girls also really like trucks...

Not to sound like a d!ck, but I can't really comment because I've always had some sort of socially accepted "cool car". Sure, I went through my "VTEC and DSM phase" and never owned a Porsche or Ferrari, but even my Integra and Eclipse GST were generally well-liked. I suppose I never really cared too much about that aspect of owning a car. I just bought a car because that particular one, at that time in my life, was the best one I could afford that put a smile on my face. So no, I guess the people in my social circle just don't give two sh!ts about what I drive.

Yeah all my Porsche buddies stopped wanting to hang out with me when i bought the cheap Z. Sort of treated me like I was from lower rung of society. Cougarish ladies in nice towns stopped asking me about my car and high school kids started to tell me how cool my Z was. Defintely downgrade socially from my Porsche.

Honestly, based just one looks, I think the Z looks much sexier. However, that new 2013+ 991 carrera 2cs ... still..Z has the slight edge.
But, both look great.

I remember when I got my note instead of the z I got alot of people saying "I don't know I just can't see you driving that little car" and not to long after that people at work stopped really caring about what I drove so yes I would say when you drive a z you get treated differently

Um..well, like everyone has mentioned already, you get more attention in the car than you previously did. For me, besides the compliments, people seem to be more nice on the road towards me. (well some). For example, they let me merge, or let me go first on a 4-way stop sign, when obviously I was not the first one to the stop sign.

Another thing I've noticed, and it might be the car or just myself being friendly; when ordering at a drive thru, I seem to get better service when I am in the Z, they actually give me enough taco sauce, ketchup etc. LOL (without asking!) You guys know how it is these days, if you don't ask for ketchup you won't get any! and even when you do ask, they will give you like 2 ketchup packets for like 3 Burgers and 3 Fries lol.

Now these people I never hung out with are calling me to go hang out and asks if I want to join their car meet etc. As for another example, people at work keep asking me if I received a promotion (which I didn't). They say my family must be rich and asks me how much the car cost me (somebody thought it cost over 50k). When I tell them it wasn't expensive and cost under 30k they were shocked. I bought the Z because I've always loved the Z car and thought it was a great price for all that you get. Have you guys experienced the same thing happen to you when you got your Z?
yes, pretty girls stared, waved and even blew kisses while i was driving my G. they would stop at a light and comment about my car.

now with my Z, i only get from ugly greasy doods at gas stations.
