Coolant is cheap enough from the dealer.

Green needs to be mixed, you buy one jug. Blue is pre mixed, you need two jugs.

Correct. Do not forget to mix the green 50/50 with DISTILLED water.

If you're in a hot climate, a 50/50 mix may not be necessary. You could get away with a 75/25 water/coolant mix if you don't see freezing temps.

Yes, but coolant isn't just to prevent freezing.
While, YES, the car will run cooler with more water, when the temps go up, the anti freeze is ANTI BOIL, and as soon as the fluid starts to boil, your car has pretty much overheated

A lot of track cars run straight water with no issues.

I hope they have massive radiators, and I'm sure drag cars and REAL race cars run 100% water, but I know that when I was running 10% coolant, the line between ok and boiling the fluid was a lot finer. And once it boiled, too much fluid came out to the point that the car overheated

No one answered the OP's question.

YES, any coolant will work, may not be THE best, but if you are going to go that route, get one that says "Mixes with any color"

If you're just a bit low, put Distilled Water in the system to top it off

This is risky -- part of coolant's job is lubricating the water pump. Increasing the dilution ratio decreases its effectiveness in this area. My Dad used to call this "false economy". You save a few bucks up front but risk hundreds.

That's why you run a bottle of water wetter or something similar.

i use the nissan coolant + distilled water.

but some of our Z's came with like a 7yr life coolant from wat i read. mine is that blue color which is the long life one so i dont expect to drain/fill for another 3-4yrs.
