I sat there for a couple minutes with the pump on. Turned it on and off probably 3 or 4 times. The only thing that you got to be careful of is that you dont overheat the pump running it to long without fuel. |
i've taken this curve at damn near 50 with 1-3 dots no issues... sounds like something is failing on your car...

The curve I did was pretty much the same, only at about 80mph. :) Its the only time its happened to me. |
It's never happened to me, so I deny there is any issue! *stern flat hand swiping motion*

I still think OPs fuel pump is dying as well

all this talk of track turns and whatnot......when a group of guys and i did the dragon and those backroads at speeds most likely unsafe ones and never had one fuel issue. those tight turns and small roads are probably just as hard if not worse on the car than the track lol

You don't do turns. You just drag race 1/4mi at a time. :gtfo2: :icon17: |

Here I can hold about 80-85 top right, not that much G's, no idea of fuel starve. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...psd858fa9f.jpg Here I can hold 110-115, much more G's, much easier time to starve. <a href="http://s39.photobucket.com/user/synolimit/media/image_zpsfdd84fd0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e174/synolimit/image_zpsfdd84fd0.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo image_zpsfdd84fd0.jpg"/></a> |

you may just have a bad fuel pump or something if you had fuel starve at low G's. i'd say look into it. as for the dragon if you take it on at speed then i think it becomes quite like a track but probably harder than most. might not be as fast but the turns come much faster and some are really tight. plus you only have 1 lane to use not a whole width of a track......oh yea and cops. difficulty seems to fall in favor of the dragon here lol :tiphat: 11 miles - 318 turns. how many does your track have :bowrofl: |

how about slowing down on public roads? no need to be going 85mph on an entrance ramp. if you're having issues on a road course, wasn't there some vendor here that has a cure for this issue? |
i wonder if getting stickier tires contributes to this? how many that have had this problem are still on the stock re050s vs better tires?

I got it at 15/16ths of a tank at Road America coming out of the super long carousel at 105mph. Its a design flaw, pure and simple. It takes a prolonged full throttle acceleration coming out of a turn. My student was getting it at VIR this weekend at nearing the end of 25 minute sessions after a full fill up each time. I don't get it anymore, but I have phunk's redesigned fuel system. |
|
I can't believe all the problems this car is having at 25K miles. I had it towed last night from fuel starvation. The transmission bearings are whining so hard that I have to push the clutch in at the drive thru to not hear it. There is also the transmission grinding 2nd gear almost every other shift. The build quality is pathetic. As much as I love this vehicle, I might have to start looking for a new ride sooner or later.
I briefly considered leasing a Leaf, but f Nissan and their products |
Every one doing 50 on a sweeping right off ramp type situation probally would never had a problem, but that's not really pushing the car at all not even close.
Like Mitco I was maintaining a speed of 80-85 through 3 right handed off ramps in a row ( 3 leafs of the clover) would of been 4 until the exit of the 3rd when I put my foot down on the gas and just slowed down. You need huge force to the left side for a well maintained period of time no other way of fuel starve happening |

You'll see fuel starve on the turns you can gas out of, and a good bit on hellbender if you push it (but you're really getting into the "dumb" region at that point) |

On the second time I got towed, I was doing 25-30mph around the turn with one hand on my cell phone. Take a look at the fuel tank and the design of the fuel pump, you will know why.
I definitely wasn't going faster than highway speed because I had hit the gas to merge with the truckers going about 70mph. The car just hesitated and died. |

http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...pscaa00b67.png This is a fuel starve corner for me at anything below half a tank. It is a short corner but has a nice bank to it that allows you to come in pretty hot. The lines are not exact but you get the idea. Yellow section is maintaining/rolling on throttle, Green section is WOT, Red section you guessed it, fuel starve. This next example is how you describe it and has effected me at 3/4 of a tank once. http://i850.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps8f1f835a.png Color chart is the same as above. This turn is obviously much longer and has a much higher exit speed than the first corner. If you notice though in both scenarios I have not been effected until being WOT in the exit of the corner. Again im boosted and require more fuel so maybe it hits me sooner? |
Okay, fine, the gas tank design has a flaw. Everyone is well aware of it. Why do you all continue to push it when you know its going to cause you grief? You're supposed to learn from your mistakes and correct your actions in life to avoid having the issue again. This is basic life advice people...
I guess its more fun to sit on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck? I don't get it. |
