Remove that spring ASAP! The clutch pedal will have some play to it near the top but you will get used to it. MUCH BETTER IMO.

And yes, a heavier knob will make shifts smoother, that's why a lot opt for the TK one, or you can get an equally weighted knock off |
Seriously? A year of nonstop bitching and he hasn't tried something that takes 20 minutes and a pair of needle nose pliers, and is completely reversible on that glorious, blessed day when he turns in the car?

LOL What is it about his history of posting on this forum that would lead you to believe that he might actually be proactive about trying to solve one of his complaints about the vehicle? God forbid it actually works and leaves him without a reason to complain...

Indeed the spring helps a lot. However, I still get some herky-jerky shifts, but that's because I'm well below 4,000 RPM and I'm trying too hard to be smooth (thinking about it), or since I change shoes a lot, I still have to get used to the shoes (takes a few stop lights and such) - but that's just me I think. OP, def. try the 7AT - it's faster and more convenient in traffic. Plus, paddles are fun. :ugh2: Paddle shifting too. |

I just bought my Z and I am reading this thread and hearing everybody talk about this helper spring....Can anybody give me some insight on how much it costs to get removed? And do I just go to Nissan to remove it?

Here's the thread. |
Yes, do it yourself. I linked to the DIY thread in a previous post.
|
I didn't replace the spring, just removed it altogether.
