I appreciate your concern, and I have read all the threads. Again, there is no conclusive evidence that there is any harm being done by removing the helper assembly. It's only speculation, and speculation does not mean common sense.

I have run both no spring and aftermarket spring. There is definitely more feedback without the spring than with the reduced strength aftermarket spring. So there is definitely reason to run without the spring assembly if you prefer how it feels.

My position is, until someone can conclusively prove that it is causing any damage to the clutch assembly then there is no reason for me to worry. I have examined the assembly with and without the spring and there doesn't seem to be any ill affect by running without. This mod is common on the Z and on the G as well, and I have yet to hear of a failure as a result of running without.

My advice would be to try it without. If you like it... great. Run it that way. If you like it but are worried about the limited speculation of possible long term negative effect... buy the weaker spring.

I've tried both as well and the only thing I noticed is more "slop" at the top of the pedal without the spring. I highly doubt this would cause any damage long term though as the clutch is still fully engaged. I personally run the lighter spring because I didn't like the slop. I also lowered the clutch pedal slightly and am very content with the oem clutch pedal now. Before I was bucking second like a fool

There wouldn't really be any areas of potential wear on the assembly except for possibly the pivot point. Having the spring prevents some lateral movement of the pedal. I think some people thought that without the spring, the clutch wasn't returning to its upright position therefore causing the clutch not to fully engage.

I don't think that there's any issues without the spring. I was just offering to check it out for those who might think something would wear abnormally with no spring in there.
