When I took delivery of my previous car (09 Altima), I used to watch the MPG bar all the time. It was like I was always trying to achieve the high score on a video game or something. It took away all the enjoyment of driving for me. After a couple of weeks I stopped looking at it altogether.
It seems like the most counterintuitive feature you could ever put in a sports car. The only time I see it in the Z is when I'm flipping past it. |

If you want to OCD over a gauge indicator try practising shifting right as the red light flashes.
I find this entertaining.
