Agreed. A couple of weeks ago at the drag strip with VDC off I spun all the way down the track. Like, no joke... all the way down. Was rather irritating because all I wanted was for the tires to grip so I could get a move on.

Now the issue with it feeling sluggish... the computer, like all modern ECUs adapt to driver input to increase efficiency.

This has to do with the old Concrete VS Asphalt debate. Most tracks have asphalt as it is cheaper but it can get greasy and slippery. The good drag strips have concrete launch pads with an asphalt back half. Concrete (which is what public roads are made of) have better traction as it does not absorb moisture and get greasy like asphalt does which is why you have better traction on the street then you do at the drag strip with street tires. Older drag strips only have asphalt as it USE to be FAR FAR cheaper then cement.

Mildly considered this when I wrote my comment and you couldn't be more right.
