:iagree: I go through that exact scenario at least 3x a week. The rushing up to my rear and just staying there, tailgating. They get me so angry. Sometimes, when they do that, i just grab the steering wheel real tight and brake hard. I love hearing and seeing them skid into a 45 degree angle , then at the last second i punch the gas to regain distance between us. I look in the cabin through the mirror and see there dumb scared faces. lol

Lesson learned. :icon17:

I just downshift into 3rd and engine brake, then as soon as I see their nose dip cause they're having to brake suddenly cause they're not paying attention, I gun it and put some distance between us. It never takes more than a few of those before they get the point and back off.

Where specifically did you guys drive in DFW? I have never been challenged by a truck in the nearly 3 years that I've owned my Z in Dallas.

OP, just tell you brother-in-law that he's right and his truck is faster than the Z. It will absolutely make his little day.

Houston is not much different. Several truck drivers down there drive like they have sports cars. I saw a truck with a body kit speed down the break down lane just to cut everyone off in traffic. There's this one time a truck owner thought it would be cool to flex and do a smokey burnout next to a G35c at the light around a bunch of cars.

I've seen several sports car owners drive more civil than that. In fact, when I picked up my turbo Z a couple of years back I encountered a Shelby GT500 owner. We drove civilized as usual lol.

Just because those trucks have Vette and challenger engines, don't make them vettes and challengers... no one looks dumber on the road than a pick up truck driver attempting to drive like he's in a Lotus. :wtf2:

And some dill-hole in a truck actually challenging a sports car??? Furthermore, challenging a Z is a moron. And I KNOW WHY they choose the Z. The two less cylinders makes them think they actually have a chance with there v8's in a 3 ton vehicle. It's just moronic trailer park redneck logic. What a fvckin group of winners. Every time i get on the road, a pickup is always trying to show me out in Dallas/Fort worth metroplex. It's done so much, i forget to even talk about them when we talk about Civics etc trying to get at us...

I can hear the scumbags talking while they're douche-maneuvering right now...

"I'm so kewl driving my pickup like a sports car. Sports car guys are jealous when they see me in my pickup driving better than them."

Idiots.

I cannot wait for the thread..."I was tailgated so I break checked the truck" He rammed me and now with witnesses saying I brake checked him, now I have to fix my Z."

You do realize that tailgating is illegal, but so is slamming on your brakes....

If someone is tailgating you, and you feel the need to slam on your brakes...First they won...They got under your skin...And second, if witnesses see that you slammed on your brakes on purpose ? You will be fixing your own car....I will wait for the new thread...

Yes....Slowing down without brakes gives them the hint....Well Done...:tiphat:

Anyone slamming the brakes will be starting a new thread ..."totaled the Z"...

I was in Killeen and El Paso. I'm sure being in "GIville" didn't help. No offense to soldiers, but they can be pretty crazy out there on the roads.

I have a 5.0 foxbody mustang kid rev his engine everytime he sees me and he's tried to race every import I've ever had. His father with a supercharged gt said go hop in your rice rocket and get off my lawn when i confronted him for doing rev flyby drag racing. These people just hate imports

Also here in the oc, all the bros want to have lifted trucks. I've had problems with lifted trucks my whole life.

If anyone wasn't understanding about the racing on my street and told me to screw off after putting my family in danger... they would most likely find a roofing truck which has dumped roofing nails onto their driveway right behind their tires for a week. How unfortunate

No, it's more of a Southwest thing. It's all over AZ as well. :shakes head:
