You can drive the car to California without the key if you want. Just don't expect to start it again after you shut it off...This is where the phone call to the Wife/Girlfriend to bring you the key gets embarrassing..

Having the car not shut off when the key is awol makes sense. What I don't get is why the car doesn't lock itself when the key is out of range.... that would be a great feature....

^^ not if you had a kid get in the car while your walking away and then they are locked in and dont know how to unlock it in the desert heat.

talk about a big lawsuit!

Hook it up to the seat sensor.... if there is no weight in the seat it locks. Besides how the heck do you forgot you had a kid in the passenger seat?

hey everyone ive tried this like in the beginning by accident my bud moved my car i was still on and he wanted to just drive it a couple times around the parking lot... so i was like go ahead... he drove it on the road instead lol which was about 500-1000 feet away from me it was far far away from me and when he came back he was like dood isnt ur car suppose to like turn off or something? i could have like stole ur car if i was a theif?!? i was like dood i have nooooo clue that is soo ****** u can drive the car with out the key...

The car will continue to run and a message is displayed on the dash ("Key out of range", or something like that...).
