I have my house and vehicles with Hanover Insurance. Used to have Travelers and Allstate before that. Having worked in insurance, I'm not a very big fan of geico and wouldnt recommend it. Some of you guys have very high premiums. The Z is a little over $550 for the year. 100/300/100 liability, $500 coll, $0 comp deductibles. I'm 27, no tickets/accidents.

You're in Illinois. If you're under 25, live in and around NYC, and drive a sports car...forget it. Insurance companies are also using Sandy as an excuse to rape us. You don't even want to know what I drop a month for insurance for my company's vehicles. New York supports small business? My balls.

Please, you do realize Chicago's cost of living isn't exactly cheap, right? NYC drivers (especially the cabbies) are batshit crazy/stupid so I agree being under 25 and having the Z will impact premium, but I can't believe people are paying upwards of $1000+ every 6months. No matter your location/age, that's absurd.

I actually prefer Chicago to NYC for two reasons: 1) there are alleys so the stinky trash isn't on the sidewalks every day and it's an overall cleaner city. 2) NYC is too congested for my comfort.

To each his own bruh... Chicago was built by NY'ers though. Don't forget that. Chicago wouldnt be what it is todays if it weren't for the NYC cosa nostra.

I wasn't trying to sound disparaging And as Unknown iterated, NY is harsh on vehicles of any kind. I'm not doubting the cost of living in Chicago. I'm just saying...unless you're special, you're paying a lot for insurance at a younger age here.

As a side note, I was born and raised in NYC. I will always both love it and hate it with a passion

No offense taken

I'm the same with Chicago. Right now is the love stage since it's warming up.
