Default Stranded on the freeway twice in one month (fuel starvation)

So I have had fuel starvation in the past (mainly on the track) but never actually got stranded from it (just lost power for a few seconds).

I only had it happen once on the road and that was in a hard/long right turn and I was very low in gas (2 dots).

Fast forward to recently...

Well the day before my birthday last month taking a big 270 degree off-ramp which i took kinda hard but had over a quarter tank so didn't think it would be a problem but sure enough I got stranded. Kind of in a bad spot too I let my car roll down a bit to get in a better spot. I was hoping it would recover like in the past but later I realized that because it was so uphill it did not recover.

Here is where it happened (where onram/offramp started and I ended up):

https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=C...sz=18&t=m&z=18

And today. Less than a month of getting stranded on the 71 now I got it on the 15 south. I really was not expecting it this time. I was down to 3 dots but it wasn't that hard of a right turn. I lost power as I was accelerating and shortly after I got into third gear. Not only was the right not very sharp but the incline was much less this time again but i guess due to it being up-hil the car can't recover. After filling it up after I still had > 2 gallons of gas left.

This one happened here (where onram/offramp started and I ended up):

Seems to me that this is going to happen at a bad time for someone at some point and possibly cause an accident and Nissan is going to get hit with a lawsuit. I wish they had a fix for this. Needless to say I am going to be extra careful from now on.

How fast were you driving/cornering to get fuel starved on on ramps?

Never happen to me even when i was driving with low fuel on canyon roads or freeway transitions.

Yep....You need to run a half a tank to drive hard...These cars do no like being below 1/4 tank....Is it a flaw ? Yes, but it is the way it is...

You know living in California, we have some of the best Cloverleaf On / Off ramps...

I have a spot where I run the figure 8 and never get on the Highway....Over and over and over again....

The OP has a habit of reckless driving and road rage -- he has posted numerous videos of 65 plus MPH downtown LA exhibitions (in traffic) and has also regaled us with various anger-driven retribution against other drivers who go too slow in the fast lane for his tastes. He avenges himself with wanton windshield washer attacks against those fools who get in his way.

On the 15 onramp it probably only about 25 through the actual turn and then only got up to 50-ish when fuel starvation kicked in (a few seconds after the initial turn). Was really surprised on this one as it wasn't that hard of a turn.

On the 71 onramp it was probably 30-35-ish and same thing heavy acceleration after that up to about 65 and then fuel starvation (although that one was banking right).

I definitely will be a lot more careful when am under 1/2 tank now. I think the significant factor in whether or not its recoverable once it starts is if are going uphill at all or not. Even a slight amount uphill seems to make it irrecoverable without adding more gas in it.

In the 3 years I have had the car ive only had fuel starvation happen 3 times on the public road (twice on the track) and only two of these (on the road) actually resulted in getting stranded.

Filling up every-time the gas tank is <1/2 tank just to avoid this is kind of ridiculous though. I will likely just be more careful when its under 1/2 tank to avoid it from happening.

Still not cool though Nissan...

Exaggerate/Lie much? Yeah I went up to 65 MPH-ish for a very short period of time getting around someone who pulled out and just stopped in blocking the lane. Not the best decision at the time I will admit but it was 10PM and not that much traffic.

I have only once used my windshield to spray someone only after they first did it to me right after I had my car washed. Had nothing to do with the speed they were driving...

Please show me an example of retribution against drivers who go to slow in the fast lane? I don't even know where you got that from.

At the time I posted those video's it is when I recording myself whenever I was driving my car so that is just a highlight of things that happened. You act as if that was my norm or something. Because yeah I just get randomly cut off and people spray me with windshield wiper fluid every single day.
