2003 BMW M3 convertible 6spd manual, Carbon Black on Cinnamon with 19" optionals. The warranty had expired and I had two years left to pay. Started driving it tentatively, no fun. Plus, my wife didn't like it because of the vert and manual. Since having the blue Z (loaded with 7AT) since April I have the following conclusions:

-I only occasionally miss manual, though the M seemed to pull better from 3000 rpm.
-I liked the M steering wheel thickness and controls better, though I much prefer the Z tilt.
-I liked the M seats better (seemed more sturdy).
-Ergonomics is a wash, though the Z wins hands down for techy stuff (the M did not have Navi, Bluetooth or Sat radio and the Ipod interface is way better on the Z).
-The M had a nicer ride over rough roads and I sometimes miss open-air driving.
-The Z looks WAY more like a sports car. To some, the M was just another 3 series.

Overall, absolutely no regrets trading in the M despite missing it sometimes.

Does the 7AT hunt for gears at all going uphill?

I watched the OP's video but can't figure out how he managed to park the car behind the tree like that...
1. without the engine.
2. without the front wheels to steer the car.
and 3. most amazingly, in critical condition with critical injuries to the head.

Just traded my 07 vette coupe for 09 touring sport 7AT. After being a vette guy my entire life it is easy for me to say my z is by far a better car. The only thing the vette did better was straight line acceleration. The z is easier to drive hard, more comfortable. better built. and better looking. My wife who was afraid to drive the vette, was behind the wheel of the z for 30 seconds and said I REALLY LIKE THIS. That could be a bad thing, she will be trying to swap her 09 mini cooperS for the z any time she can.

What? DUI for blowing a .024? It was .08 last time I was in GA for a DUI. And second, hit a bear? I mean who crashes into bears? I would like to hear the story behind that. Any pics?

What? They allow DAWGS in here? Just kidding although I am a Yellow Jacket '81 I have a lot of friends from UGA.

Anyways, back on topic a 2004 Vette Convertible and a 1970 VW Beetle. Sold the Vette but kept the Beetle.

He must mean he blew a .24. I'd like to hear the story behind hitting the bear also. I would imagine the damage would be far greater than the more common deer crashes...
