You can really put just about any good oil cooler on any car including the Z. You dont have to spend $1,000 on an ARC one although it would be pretty cool. Any oil cooler will work...

But again, why should we have to?

Oil temp issues were my biggest concern with my 135i, fortunately it's ok with the oil cooler.

Is this car sport pack? I wonder if the sport pack adds an oil cooler.

I would say you shouldnt need to, but you can't expect a $30,000 car to be perfect. It will never overheat on the street, only on the track.

Everyone keeps treating the $30k price point like it's $100k. $30k is a bargain for a car of these performance specs, so we can't expect everything to be perfect.

But when it is the 350z's predecessor and they didn't have this problem well I think that there fit and form for the engine is then being tested. No this is not an expensive car by any means but at the same time it is a car that is making a statement of refinement, value and track prowess and if they can't back it up by combating the over heating problem well yeah I think then there is room to complain there.

You make some good points there. I just have trouble faulting a car that performs so well but needs an oil cooler for hard track driving when there are people driving around in $30k+ civics (from the factory!)

18rgcelica73 has an excellent point. This is a pretty quick fix, wilth a pretty low price tag. Prediction one, everyone initially installs an after market oil cooler. Prediction too, people start rerouting the gauges. I am going to leave mine stock until 15K then I'll mess with the top of my VQ.

I will only be DD'ing this car so I doubt I would have that problem.

It looks like it is a track related problem only. Daily driving should not be effected. Also, they have not reported a failure due to the high temps on the track. Just that they are a little high for there liking.

I don't think of this as a problem, but nissan should add offer it as an option. This is the same issue full size trucks have when you tow or take them off road. With out a cooler, you are at risk to high repair bill. Nissan, does not see this as an issue cause majority of ppl will not push there car as I or most of us(forum). I do see the point from the guy in Az., in those extreme temps. you should have at least have the option.
