If you read my post you would understand that my comment mentions that it was re-engineered in order to accomodate all the mechanical features of the ragtop. But engineering and designing are two different things. The 370z was not DESIGNED to be a vert, it was ENGINEERED after the design was finished. They then took the necessary steps to wrap another surface around the engineering features. This is probably why there's a year delay between the coupe and vert.
