I had a Miata for 20 years (just gave it to my aunt) . I'm TIRED of maintaining a convertible top. I'm tired of sunburn. I'm deaf from wind noise, and I don't want ppl watching me pick my nose. In short, I guess I'm getting old and just want to drive my rocket in peace.

If you read my post you would understand that my comment mentions that it was re-engineered in order to accomodate all the mechanical features of the ragtop. But engineering and designing are two different things. The 370z was not DESIGNED to be a vert, it was ENGINEERED after the design was finished. They then took the necessary steps to wrap another surface around the engineering features. This is probably why there's a year delay between the coupe and vert.

I understood your post, I was just pointing out that you were not correct. The 370 Roadster is not a coupe that was re-engineered, it was built from the start as a roadster. Your description does apply to the 350 Roadster though.

So many threads on regret lol.
Ive thought about this a couple of times. Especially because i was in the market for an S2K. But im not really fond of the look, IMO the Z looks best as a coupe.

Would've be been pretty sweet if we had a targa top. That would've been my choice lol

All of these regrets are annoying. It's only money, buy what you want, it's not the end of the world.

Be that as it may, it certainly wasn't designed as a roadster first. The hardtop was clearly the design priority. My original comment wasn't focussed primarily on the engineering endeavors behind the roadster. Even if they did engineer it from the ground up the lines of the design are still compromised.
