My friend had a 135i n55 engine or n54 the one with a single twinscroll turbo so he jb4-ed it + intake + intercooler+ downpipe+ tune. Drove nice but not Z nice. I think it was at 17 psi boost anywhoo out of about 24k miles he had that boost for about 800 miles and then the car just broke down, clutch went, problems starting the car wiers burning, bolts dropping out i mean we took it apart and put it together like 6 times to make sure that everything is bolted right and all, still new things kept going wrong. In the end he whent out and bought '13 black Z happy as a pervert in a ladies dressing room in a stock car. So if you wanna go there we will be waiting for you back here

Dude, Are you just writing for the sake of writing right???

OP
The BIMMER should be fun to drive. I myselff do prefer the Z as a STOCK sports entry but if you carefully mod a bmw with quality reliable aftermarket parts? You have a jr. supercar on your hands. Good luck and enjoy.
BMW's can be special cars in the right hands.

Thanks. I didn't mod the Z (except for the stereo) so, I don't know how much I'll mod the Bimmer. The car is plenty fast right now the little I've driven it (from the dealership to my place). On top of that, there aren't many go fast spots here in Hawaii without me constantly looking over my shoulder for the PoPo. lol

You're welcome! Most of the time, I'd rather have read then contributed. Most of what I wanted to say had already been said by someone already hot on the keyboard.

Good luck with the 335i. I think many here crossed shopped these two cars before deciding on the Z. The 335i has always been that car in the back of my mind. I'd love to hear your impressions and comparisons.

Good luck with the Bimmer! As a past owner of 5 Bimmers (2 M's), and a current owner of one, I will take my Z over them all anyday
However, I did miss them, so got my current one to go with the Z.
They are expensive to maintain, unless you are a DIY kind of person. Look up indy shops there in Hono called A&A Motor Werkes and german Auto Specialist. Great shops!
Oh, and juice box that bad boy and have some fun!

Definitely! I've always been curious about them, and this model in particular looks bad a s s to me, so I said, "why not?".

I just gave the car back to BMW today to detail since I took it home the first night without a proper take home wash and wax, so initially my first thoughts are...

Pulls very decently. Smooth trans (AT). It's a lot quieter (by my aging ears), takes the many potholes and rough roads a lot smoother then the Z. It's nice to have a back seat again, even if I can't fit normal sized adults in there for more then quick jaunts. I have a TRUNK, and a big one at that. Only been able to drive it probably 2 hrs in the less then 24 I had it.

The bad, or perceived bad...

It's not a Z. The Z is a special kind of car. The stereo is very non-standard, so my Kenwood DNX9990 or whatever it is won't fit. There are too many bells and whistles I need to figure out, but once I do I'm sure it will enhance my comfort or convenience.

That's it so far. Like this site was, I have a lot of reading and questions to search out before I begin to mod the car. BMW wanted $495 to tint the car, I thought that was a little much to be honest.

you should get the M series !!!! however, good luck hope to see you bounce back to Z again with 2013 Nismo or 2013 with AMS kit because it is very different scenario between driving Z compare to BMW 3.
