Hate to be that poor sap to fall into a hole that's missing a utilities cover.

Any building supply store should carry diamond plate. Take the dimensions you want with you and they may even cut it for you.

That would be a good place to start. I work at a steel mill here and if you were closer I could bring all you want..

I'm in Santa Clara. I would love to come and pick those up from you if you're in the bay area :-). Thanks for your reply though.

The stuff at Home Depot and Lowe's is probably going to be too thin. The plates in the pic look like they are a lot thicker than anything I have seen at these stores in my area. Surely there is a steel supply company of some sorts in your area. They may not be cheap though.

I would start out searching the metal recycling yards that are open to the public, find the right one and they will cut it for you too.

But OP, Lowes is your best bet I have seen those at my local Lowes, and if you really want something quick, Wood or a more expenseve solution get those driveway ramps

You might want to check with your city if that is even legal to place at the edge of your driveway

I was worried about theft as well. However, these three pieces are bolted together and weigh about 150 pounds. It is very unwieldy to move it. I have had it down for more than a year without incident. You can also bolt it to the ground if you want.
