I believe the most current SLU replacement is no steering lock at all. I think they even have a Nissan part that fits in the same place as the original

I believe the most current SLU replacement is no steering lock at all. I think they even have a Nissan part that fits in the same place as the original steering lock, but contains no locking mechanism whatsoever. Sounds like you got the wrong part if they installed another locking mechanism prone to failure. They are all prone to failure by the way. I could be wrong, but I believe I've read this information in the forum quite awhile back
