Filed a complaint with BBB, this is incredibly upsetting
|
still having issues with the steering lock?
|
It may not be the steering lock after all, because from what I understand now is that if its the steering lock issue then the car wont start at all...
In my case the car tries to start but then stalls...but when trying the 2nd time or giving it gas the first time itll start |
hmm yea that is my understanding as well. have you seen this thread?
http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...ring-lock.html i have not encountered the issue yet, but it possibly could be the clutch switch if you have a manual or the brake switch if auto |
this is BS. dealership denied my ask for a new steering lock. i have a 2010 with a Rev C lock. they said my VIN doesnt fall under the affected vehicles.

I believe this happened to me today...
Keys work and even swapped out the battery... still no good... red key sign keeps blinking, and when car is locked the red key light is constantly on... I am about to take this to dealership tomorrow, anyone know how much it costs to fix this? I believe I am no longer on the warranty since my car is 4 years old and have around 50k miles on it... |

It's a recall so you are good. It will take a few hours to install if the dealer have the part on stock. |
Anyone have the issue where the car wont start the first time but starts after?
|
great info here guys, my 370z would not start and after reading your posts, I fixed it myself and saved thousands of dollars. I am hours from the dealership and took the sl module apart and put a nut in it and voila! it started thanks!!!

I had my steering lock replaced last week to the tune of $1200. I contacted Nissan on both Facebook and Twitter, they initiated a case number and after a few days of phone tag, this morning I got a call that my reimbursement was denied because the car was out of warranty (2010 Z, 41K miles).

ATTENTION!! 2009-2010 owners with steering lock/wont start issues

Steering Lock is still covered even after the warranty is expired because it's a "RECALL". The person who called you is an idiot. Edit: My steering lock was replaced by the dealer after the warranty was expired. I called them first to make sure they confirm the recall and have SLU in stock which they did. |
Call Nissan again and tell them the steering lock that u replaced its freaked recall! No matter if your warranty is expired or not they have to honor the recall!
|
Some 2010s were not covered under the TSB/recall. :(
