Considering selling the Z

Do whatever you gotta do brother! If you do get new brewing gear, can I get a pint if ever I'm in your neck of the woods? Lol

When selling a car:

Post a thread on a forum that discusses said vehicle
Request affirmation that you can sell it above blue book

Then discuss the vehicle that you want to purchase on the forum of the original car
Request affirmation that you can purchase it well below blue book

Gain false sense that you made money on the deal or that it was "smart"

Rinse and repeat

I don't drive mine very often either, but today was a great example of why I love driving it when I get the chance. The girl I'm dating is car shopping, so I drove her to a Dodge dealership today. I park the Z, we get out and walk away, and within two minutes a salesman is taking pictures of the Z. Then we were stopped at a light downtown when a guy walking by stopped and said the hood looked great (it's carbon fiber). Then we went out to eat and another guy commented on how pretty it was when we were getting out of it.

I love the Z.

^ I have similar experiences, even today... (Was in the ER due to blood loss) dad picked me up, revs the motor, and I was like "dammit, why did he bring my car"... (I don't care if he drives it, even in the rain, lol) but it's small compared to the Lexus... Anyways the guy that rolled me out on the wheelchair and his trainee where like, "THAT'S YOUR car???" LOL!!!
Then we went to the bank and as we were about to get in, this guy who also left the bank told my dad "beautiful car, love the color" (MBlue, and my pops said it was MY car, lol)

All told, I like the attention it gets, not the reason I originally bought the car (wanted a 2 seater fast car to compliment the ISF), but I also understand that it isn't exactly a practical car even though I make full Costco runs, lol, and I don't have to deal with snow, but even if I did, I'd drive the bítch in the snow with chains and all, LOL

In any case, OP, do whatever makes you happy, and as much as we'd hate to lose a fellow Z brother, you gotta do what you gotta do, for your benifit, or whatever makes you happy! Hopefully you'll stay with us on this forum though!

My Z is a DD some of the time and some time not, I travel for work, so sometimes I drive the Z sometimes not. But I can tell you when I get back in it I enjoy it. I bought mine in Oct 2012, it now has 23K on it, most of it long distance driving and I would not change my thoughts on it in a minute. I have been there with selling other cars and I wished I would have had a place to park them. Had a 70/71 240Z, sold it no time for TLC (almost cry every time it comes up on the screen saver), just sold my 91 Mustang GT in June, miss that, no place for it and on the road.

Yes it costs, but it so much to drive and have fun with it.

Best advice from others, park, change insurance, or if its a weekend car talk to the insurance company about leisure car or something, it does work.

Well, at least it's cheaper to maintain a Z any other place than in Singapore. A new Z will cost you SGD$258,800 including a certificate of entitlement (A ownership cert to get your car on the road) which is around SGD$93,000+ as of now. Road tax per year is SGD$3,500+ & insurance for me as a 33 yrs old profile will set me back another SGD$6,000 without 'No Claim Discount'.

Fyi, Estimate exchange rate USD$1 ~ SGD$1.19

Your priorities and needs have changed. Sell it and let someone else have fun with the Z. However, be realistic with what you want to sell it for. Yes it holds it's value but it takes a special kind of buyer to sell the Z.

I bought mine from a member here (Oppositelock) and hated buying it from him. A great guy and I drove over 500 miles to get the car. We sat and talked cars while the car was being detailed, and with each minute, I hated taking it away from him even more. He's a car enthusiast as I am, and it tore me up to take the keys from him.

I spent about 2 months looking through cars to upgrade to, and the Z finally made the elimination round in the beginning of Dec. If you are going to sell it, I suggest you don't sell it to anyone who you think won't appreciate the car.

So you're saying it costs the equivalent of over a third of a million dollars (USD) to have a Z in Singapore?

Hi MX, that's damn right... Singapore is one of the most expensive places to own a car. FYI, a Ferrari Italia 458 costs $1mil. How many can I get in US? Lol...

Default 2010 370z driver

In a few weeks my Z will be 2 years old. Living in upstate New York I have the issue of snow. As long as the roads are clear I drive it daily. I have 32K on it. Bought it with 16 Miles. It is so much fun to drive. I am not one to spend weekends cleaning it. I have weathertech digital fit mats in it and just clean them out. It is silver and dirt hardly shows up on it. Run it through the car wash once in a while. It is garaged. You buy a car like this, you drive it!!!!! I do have a Jeep Grand Cherokee to use on snow days and shopping for larger items. I paid cash for it and just have the insurance to pay. As a 2nd car on the policy it is a pleasure car and ins. not bad.
I say, if you can afford it, keep it and have fun........

With all the money I'd save I could easily get some new brewing gear.

I wonder how tough it is to sell a car for 29-30K to an individual?
I bought my Z to drive...a lot. Your Z is not money in the bank. It's loosing value everyday. Sell it to somebody who really wants it...preferably before the 390Z comes out.
