So many great cars if you're in the market, but it might be worth the wait if you're willing to wait another year or two. Out of all those choices, an FR-S or BRZ sounds reasonble to hold you over until the next Z. I have a feeling they'll hold thier value pretty well and they're not that expensive if you don't go too crazy with options and mods. It will be a downgrade from the Z, but they're great cars. Some other suggestions would be the BMW 1 series or 3 series, the G37 (which is due for a re-design).......and if you're willing to stretch your budget, the Corvette (also due for re-design), BMW Z4 and the Audi TT-S (kind of small cars though)

So why does this guy get a pass for turning off VDC and not getting a wrath of shi t when every other post with an accident and VDC off does?

Just curious. If VDC was on he'd still have his car is all I'm saying.

That, and the fact that a 20 mph impact doesn't usually result in a totalled car. And taking a turn at 20 mph with damp roads usually doesn't result in massive fishtailing unless your tires are shot.

Cause most of the time we hear about people with VDC off and crashes is cause they were doing something they shouldn't have with the vdc off...me I was doing 25mph so i would hardly call that doing something I shouldn't be doing...just a stuff happens type of situation

If you're looking for an argument then this is not the place for it...I already admitted it was a mistake in my original post and this thread was more meant to get peoples opinions on a replacement so I'm gonna leave it at that

Upon second reading, I did come off a little more snarky than originally intended. It's definitely a crappy situation. I hope you get a suitably entertaining replacement. In the future though, water on road>0, VDC= on.

yah, especially when temps are colder one needs to watch out. the traction to break point is even narrower in those conditions.

since you're in socal maybe the frs/brz might be fun to drive in the canyons. powerwise it's a pretty weak car though. maybe something awd?

my vote is for a Z, either this gen or next gen but always a Z

i really hope your Z isnt totaled, its a shame to see a crash like this happen, hope everything goes well

one of my friends got in a similar crash with his FRS because he turned on VSC sport mode(this retards traction control so you can slide a bit more) on wet roads, imo keep traction control on, and with the 370z, it isnt intrusive with day to day driving, just remember to turn it off when you head down to the track
