The 8-10k is if you were going with a change in colour like black Z to a red or white Z, or if it was a crazy custom colour like green etc..... there's a lot more work involved to complete change a vehicles colour and it will hurt the resale value to when the colour is completely changed for another.

yes thank you very much. the idea i have is more from my step dad. he has had a 78' corvette and 2002 viper that he has kept in pretty pristine condition, even repainting the vett. so the idea is to get the 370z and still have it look nice 10 years from now. i think its pretty feasible, for example replacing the leather seats down the road when needed also one day.
