Anyone polished there timing chain cover?

How about powder coating them red? That would look nice. My car engine bay is at times cleaner then my condo. So I feel for you. I keep my engine

How about powder coating them red? That would look nice. My car engine bay is at times cleaner then my condo. So I feel for you. I keep my engine bay spotless and that appreciated by the mechanics that work on it. If you care about it so will they. Hail to clean engines!

That looks great! my only issue is, i don't think i am going to be able to get the entire cover off easily. so i'm wondering if it will look weird if i just polish the fornt cam covers on either side. basically, would they stick out like a soar thumb because the stuff behind them isn't polished

Cleaning the underside of my Z helps to reduce rust of the unprotected metal parts. I coat the unprotected metal parts with wd-40 in order to reduce dirt from sticking to the metal part. So it is not for posers but for, rust protection.

Although I have not polished the camshaft covers, it is easily done with a cone buffing wheel with aluminum buffing compound attached to buffer. No need to remove the cam covers. I did my diff cover on my 350Z and looked great!

Just as "good shop practice" as we say in my line of work.. Anything that is taken apart and has a gasket, gets a new one. The old one has already been torqued and seen pressure.. It's just easier to do while everything's apart opposed to finding a leak later.. Just a helpful hint

Not to thread jack, sorry if I am a bit

... While WD-40 is AMAZING for breaking up rust and loosening tools, WD-40 is a dust and dirt attractant, that's why it is not used on guns or moving tooling, (unless it's wiped off with degreaser or something)
I HIGHLY recommend using something else to coat the underside of your car. You're probably hurting rather than helping

Go into a rhino liner or (fill in the blank) truck bed lining place with a lift and having them coat the underbody if that's your fear
