So this happened when I got my tires put on at Walmart.

Kill them... Next time, Costco or even Sam's Club

Not trying to pile it on, but you get what you pay for. If you want to use Discount clubs, Pep Boys, Joe's bait, sushi and tires shop to swap out high performance, low profile large tires...then don't expect quality. Period.

Even experts such as NTB or STS Tire, who do so much of their business on tires, stand a good chance of not doing a good job. They are fine for 185/60-15 Camry tires. High performance? Hit or miss. I have had good experiences but also folks who have scratched what should be simple 225/45-17 tire changes.

Larger rims are harder to work with and require very good equipment *and* a work environment where there is both skills and accountability. $10/hr grease monkeys tend to not take too much pride in their work.

I recently paid 40/corner for mount/balance at a Porsche dealer. Wheels came back perfect with no scratches. I expect to do so with the Z and the Nissan dealer when the time comes.

"cheapest" you should have expected that.

The word "cheap" and a $30k+ car just dont mix very well

Discount won't even drive my car onto the lift, they make me do it... and this is just my SRT.

I don't know if it's because no one knows how to drive stick or they are just genuinely afraid of damaging it... yet they drive other vehicles onto the lifts no problem.

Going to have pursue the managment. I also noticed i had roughly 12 miles less range than when I left the car. It also took an hour longer than the original estimated 1.5 hour wait. The mechanic also said "Car's got quite the kick to it!" when I picked it up.
oh my gawd. that is awful! ? very very careful where I take my Z-other people dont care about it like I do so they aren't careful-at all. So far I have only had my car to the dealership, the one other tiem I took it someplace else I ended up with some seriously scratched up console pieces...

I hate the Walmart and refuse to buy anything from them or use their services due to their labor policies. I used mr tire last time for the Nismo tire purchase, balance and mount. They did a great job and did the alignment. Hope you get it fixed but I bet they will claim it happened after you left. Good shops will inspect your car with you and verify its condition before they touch it. That way, no arguments about damage.

that's what i'm thinking. i got in touch with corporate, and they are surprised and will have the store manager get in touch with me. maybe i can talk them into buying me an aftermarket bumper, and just repair my current stock bumper.

The old myth was that having a shop backed by a major corporation meant everyone had to answer to someone, so work should be good, and they have the resources and wherewithal to cover liability if there's a problem.

But... as we all know, the reality of the corporate model is to make as much money as possible while cutting costs whenever possible, which often winds up screwing the consumer, and here we are.

That's unacceptable.

The issue isn't whether you "got what you paid for", because its a given that you shouldn't have to pay extra just to avoid having damage done to your car. Effectively, this makes walmart's "service" a scam.

They made around 6 billion in profits last year and pay their workers **** wages, (which is probably why the tech wasn't as careful as he could have been..) They can afford a new bumper for you.

Raise hell, go after walmart, but expect to handle this through your own insurance in the end. Sorry, man.

Call corporate and tell them that this will be all over facebook and several big car forums by tomorrow and that you will also file a complaint with better business bureau if they don't take responsibility for it. Tell them you don't want the tech punished -- you want his wealthy overseers to make up for it.

A mistreated, poorly trained dog bit you -- go after the irresponsible and wealthy owner.

The other guy said millions, you won't even get 1% of that. Get your damages fixed and be happy.

You can fix the bumper with epoxy made for plastic bumper repair , but it will never be the same, you need to ruffen up both sides of the bumper and place a small piece of flat in metal across the back of it and fill it in on both sides. Then leave a lot of epoxy on the back to act as a brace.

Make sure you get a completly new bumper and complete paint and installation for your damages.

Also I can see the store trying to say the damage was prexisting as the car is 4 yrs. old

You may want to get the car upon a lift and check for other damage, it looks like it was done on a parking barrier or possibly the lift they used.

I definitely am not a rich man.. but I refuse to get tires mounted at "the cheapest tire mounting service in my area".

Damage to a car is never ok, but good god man! Spending a little more on the tire mounting is totally worth it. I bet they scraped and dented those wheels too.
