dam just saw this, always sad to hear about a Z being bumped, but atleast you are safe, good luck with the repair process. :tiphat:
|
File a claim, it should not affect your premiums. Have the offending driver's insurance cover it, not yours. Get the highest repair quote you can muster from the body shop (usually contracted by the other party's insurance carrier). Get a quote from a Nissan dealer for parts --- given the nature of damage (subject to inspection), you should not have to replace anything -- except the foam bumper underneath the shell --- probably.
You can opt to take the cash or have it repaired. If you decide to cash it, get a new bumper = Amuse rep for 600 - 750 bucks. |
Dude, go to the doctor and get a checkup on your neck and spine. You may feel fine and experience no pain but something could have still happened inside. Much better safe than sorry, especially concerning your spine.

You better make this sucker pay!! It's the principle. This f**ker should not be driving in the first place. He'll f**k someone else over too. Damn this stuff makes me so angry:mad: |

wow... some people are way overreacting. yes it sucks that he got hit, but i've seen rock chips bigger than that. it's called an accident for a reason. I'm sure the guy didn't go out intending on hitting someone on purpose. OP did the right thing in getting the guy's info and at least the other guy is owning up to it, so it'll all end well.
and another thing I don't get is that on a forum filled with car enthusiasts, i'm surprised how many people don't know the difference between break and brake. |
I was referring to the no insurance part. What if it was 22k worth of damage, what then?
|
Out of curiosity, is there any "spider webbing" or cracking of the paint? I hit a truck tire driving down the freeway one night. I noticed the next morning that the paint had a webbing or cracked look to it. You couldn't feel it with your hand so I'm thinking it was under the clearcoat. The reason I ask is because cosmetically the bumper looked fine...but when you looked closer...the paint was definitely screwed up.
Glad you're ok man! |
