I'd probably not buy an 09 Z out of warranty, unless it had already had the ECU and steering wheel lock replaced. Those are probably among the costliest common problems

I'd probably not buy an 09 Z out of warranty, unless it had already had the ECU and steering wheel lock replaced. Those are probably among the costliest common problems that have occurred in that year (and maybe 2010s too). Having said that, I have an 09 and I haven't had a single repair (with only 14k miles mind you).
I should add that as a rule I do not buy used cars that do not have some warranty left on it. I've had my Z for just over 2 years (bought used in 2010). My warranty is up next month.
