Left hand positioned at 7, right hand on tha shifter

I figure if 9-3 is good enough for race car drivers, it's good enough for me

my position depends on my mood

Left hand at 9 right hand on the stick. Although, I've been told the reason some driving classes teach lower hand position is not necessarily for control, but more for airbag deployment. Get into a bad crash with your hands and ten and two and you'll break your arms and if it's bad enough, bury pieces or your radius and ulna into your forehead and face. Not the nicest way to go.

9 and 3 used to be the recommended driving position then 10 and 2 but like you say back to 9 and 3 cuz airbag deployment
|
9 and 3 due to airback deployment.
Never keep your thumbs on the inside area of the steering wheels or else a bad accident will ripe those thumbs out. After seeing a really bad track accident, I swore myself never again to do that. |
OP needs to put a poll on this tread.
1 Hand 2 Hands 1 Knee 2 Knees I think you would be suprised on how many people drive with there knees. lol I personally drive with one hand or just knees. The only time I drive with two hands is on a hard mountain run. |

On bumpy roads I tend to hold 9/3
On smooth roads I do 9 or 8 and the stick. On the highway I'm somewhere between 11-1 unless I need to get through a cluster of idiots. I'm back at 9 and stick or 9 and 3 using paddles. |
It depends....if I'm just cruising around, left hand at 11 and right hand on the console behind the shifter. If I'm driving hard, it's 10-3 except to shift.
