Slippery when wet!

Drove the Z to homedepot, then took the long way home.

Yeah, that's not gunna happen. Ever! I just picked up some shims for interior door installs. The weather was nice so I had to take the Z for a spin. :driving:

Z_ealot 08-19-2012 03:29 PM

took the Z out for a spin to go check up on my buddies house while he's away on vacation, nearly got tooken out by a bunch of retards in an mid 90's toyota camry...thankfully i have my babys quick handling to thank for avoiding being sideswiped by these a-holes...funny part of it though the driver got off on the same exit as i did and one of his passengers looked back at me while we were stopped at the red light i guess to see if i was going to get out and strangle one of them...needless to say the thought had crossed my mind

Yesterday I drove in the pouring rain out to my friends wedding. I was so scared, never drove in a downpour before but thankfully it was OK.

Today, I washed and waxed the car using the gifts my girlfriend got me

Kinda wish I did a before and after shot, but it is a big difference especially because of the rain spots

Call Corner 3 Garage (Forum Sponsor) ask for Nima. They did my engine and transmission oil change. Very happy with what they charged me. Going to change my diff. Oil soon!

I just finished washing the Z. It finally cooled down

It's 84º Now :(

DLSTR 08-20-2012 08:38 AM

The Z is in for service - oil change, aspheric mirror drivers side(std issue on the Euro model here), probably the brake fluid as well. Cruizing the Nissan Micra as the dealer loaner. Not a bad little go-box!!!

It cooled down around my way... I'm dreading, the wash, clay bar, polish, buff, and wax process. Its 3-4 hours cleaning my car on the outside, then another 2 hours on the inside. But I rather do it cuz it costs $500 to do at a detail shop that I can do on my own for the cost of supplies plus I think I'm more sterile as far as the finished product.

ZMan8 08-20-2012 07:10 PM

installed washers to align the exhaust tips better. Still very slightly off....:ugh2: for being a perfectionist.

 For a 78 year old, she gets with the Z program. She is always coaxing me to go faster whenever she rides. Bad, bad influence.

Detailed Z yesterday. Rained today.

I took my 79 year old mom around my favorite (super easy) turn in her neighborhood at 40 MPH. It is a 180 degree perfect turn. Just set the steering wheel at the start of the turn and hold it. Any faster and the tires squeal and more skill is required.

I said see how well the car goes around turns. She said she too takes this turn in the same manner and mentioned she thought I could go a tad bit faster. This is from the same woman who worries every time I go to the track.

I have sprayed and soaked Turtle Wax tar and bug remover on marks left by tire pieces at track with good results.

Is the sponge abrasive?

Nice. Gotta love our Moms!!!

onzedge 08-21-2012 10:05 AM

My Mom sometimes says "Honey, you drive with your foot in the carburetor" -- implying I drive fast. I have to remind her the 240z has 2 carbs and the 370 is injected.
