Learned a lesson about AC

Well I have a story to tell that I don't think many people can top, nor would they care to.

I drove my car to a not-so-very-nice area the other day as part of my job. It was very hot outside but I had the ac on in the car and it was nice and cold inside.
I parked my car along the street and walked up three stories in a non air conditioned hallway to a non air conditioned apartment. I knocked on the door and introduced myself and the people inside invited me in. I started to speak with them and then all of a sudden began to feel very very sick. I was dizzy and nauseous.

I told them I would have to see them later and they asked me if they could call for help. I said “No, thanks, I would be fine” but I wasn't. I walked to my car and got inside thinking maybe if I put the seat back and turned on the air conditioning I would be okay but I was not. I was thinking about calling 911 but fifteen minutes or so later as I lay in the car a rescue truck pulled up behind me and the men got out. They asked if I was okay and I told them no. They asked if I had been drinking and I again I said no. They checked me and told me they wanted to take me to the hospital and I agree. I got out of the car onto a stretcher and they put me in the back of the rescue truck. I told him to lock up my car which they did. They asked me if I wanted to have it towed and I remembered that could damage the car so I said no.

On the way to the hospital ,they took my pulse. It measured at 37 and blood pressure was 90/50 and I was perspiring like a pig. Fortunately I did not have any chest pains or pains my left arm. They started an intravenous of some sort, and gave aspirin.

The ride to the hospital in the back of that damn thing made things even worse but the intravenous seem to make me feel better.

Five hours later, after an EKG, blood tests and chest x-rays, they let me out. Meantime my son had picked up my car and driven at home. Turns out to be some kind of virus along with heat and stress exhaustion.

Lucky for me because it could have been worse. There was a woman lying on a gurney beside me in the hospital and the nurse came to her and said, "how is that pain in your chest?” She said it was bad and they asked her on the scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst, where would her chest pains be, and she said "11”

So that is what I did in my z yesterday and the moral of the story is to watch what you doing during these hot days and especially be careful about jumping out of a cold car into a hot day especially if you're a long way from 30 years old.

Take it Easy Charlie....The time it happened to me, it was a TIA stroke...That pulse at 37 is super low....

The next year I had a full blown stroke and I haven't been the same since..3 years later...

So everyone take care of yourself...We think we are invinsible....We aren't..
